Through our UX/UI boot camp, you can join the ranks of these industry-shaping creative professionals and earn your UX/UI certificate.

About the UX Boot Camp

In this part-time, 24-week UX/UI certificate program, you’ll be trained on the skills necessary to enter the exciting fields of user interface (UI) design, user experience (UX) research, and product management. The program is scheduled to fit into your life, whether you’re employed or attending college full-time, with convenient weekend and evening sessions. In each class in this rigorous and fast-paced program, you’ll learn both the theory and tools used by modern designers.

Throughout the program, you will be challenged to employ user-centric design and a wealth of creative tools to build engaging designs and user experiences. Plus, you’ll walk out with an impressive professional portfolio, a UX/UI certificate and the confidence you need to succeed in the field.

This boot camp, offered in partnership with edX, is made available through a unique consortium delivery model to provide skills-based learning to participants across North Carolina and beyond. Participants will be taught by a university-approved instructor, while learning alongside students from other consortium-participating universities and institutions. Upon meeting the completion requirements, participants will be issued a non-credit Certificate of Completion by UNC Charlotte.

Curriculum

In 24 weeks, the UNC Charlotte UX/UI Boot Camp will prepare you with relevant hard and soft skills needed to solve big design challenges as an end-to-end UX/UI professional. One-third of our curriculum is dedicated to front end web development, so you’ll be experienced in the medium you’ll be working with — even if you aren’t executing the programming.

Our user-centric curriculum is delivered through live, online classes and high-quality coursework. Our instructors are fully vetted by the university and offer 1-on-1 virtual guidance to learners throughout the program.

What is UX/UI?

UX and UI are related disciplines that help create effective user-centric experiences. While they go hand in hand, they are distinct in their purposes, as follows:

User experience (UX) design focuses on how a digital product or service functions. This includes interaction design, information architecture, wireframing, product design, plus user research, testing, and data.

User interface (UI) focuses on how users interact with and experience digital products and services. UI professionals focus on brand expression, visual communication, accessibility, graphic design, color, layout, and typography.
