About the Online Software Development Boot Camp

The Software Development Boot Camp at UNC Charlotte offers rigorous, fast-paced training in web development theory and application. Over the course of 12 or 24 weeks, you’ll gain proficiency in both front-end and back-end development, as well as the soft skills needed to excel in the fast-growing field of software development.

This boot camp, offered in partnership with edX, is made available through a unique consortium delivery model to provide skills-based learning to participants across North Carolina and beyond. Participants will be taught by a university-approved instructor, while learning alongside students from other consortium-participating universities and institutions. Upon meeting the completion requirements, participants will be issued a non-credit Certificate of Completion by UNC Charlotte.

Curriculum

This online software development boot camp’s industry-focused curriculum will equip you with the fundamental software development and coding skills needed to build dynamic, interactive websites, and web applications.

Throughout the online software development boot camp, you’ll explore AI coding tools such as GitHub Copilot and prompt engineering as well as popular programming languages such as Python, TypeScript, and SQL. But it’s not just about theory; you’ll also engage in hands-on projects that will challenge and refine your abilities. These projects culminate in a portfolio that will showcase your technical proficiency in real-world scenarios. Upon successful completion, you’ll be awarded a certificate to help you stand out in the competitive job market.
